About
"If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail."- Abraham Maslow
Anxiety, depression, marital/work problems, children, losses and trauma unfortunately are part of life. Quite often you may delay seeking counseling due to a variety of reasons; shame, fear, time, cultural values. You may seek help from non professionals only to delay finding an appropriate solution and emotional relief for you. In my twenty eight years of combined education and experience in the field, I can help.
My practice consists of assessing and treating mood disorders, depression, anxiety, loss, and trauma. In addition, my specialty in family/marriage counseling are effective in helping you and those who may be involved find resolution. In the child and adolescent area the development in behavioral modification plan/interventions, education is provided.
In my capacity as a mental health professional, I utilized sound theoretically based modalities, reality therapy/cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy. In the area of loss/trauma, I have been trained in EMDR (Eye movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Prolonged exposure therapy (PE). I have flexible practice hours including weekday evenings and Saturdays.
